Word shuts down on its own

Using Windows XP sp1 with Office XP sp2

I have several users having a problem while working in Word, where it will shut down without any notice. User goes back to use Word and it's gone. I have seen a few posts regarding this problem, but with no solutions.

I have followed some of the suggestions that were given, user using the alt-tab suggestion to see if it is still there, but it's not, it also happens whether or not Speech Recognition is on or off.

Does anyone have any ideas why Word keeps closing on its own?

Add me to that list of "several users"! Worked for an hour
on an important letter and sudddenly, whilst typing, Word
2002 shuts itself down w/o saving my letter!!!!!!!!!!!
First time using Word 2002 on a brand new XP machine! This
is a very serious bug.... so how come there don't seem to
be any responses from Msoft? Been using Word 97 & 2000 for
years, nothing like this has ever happened before.

Pissed off, to say the least!
