word shuts down unexpectedly

Using Word 2000, sometimes when i save a document, the
program closes. No save prompt, and the document is lost.


has anyone seen this before?

This maybe not applicable to you but, the only time I've seen this
happen, much to my annoyance, is at work when the server has problems.
I'll be happily typing away and hit save and the situation you described
occurs.
Has happened to me in Excel also.
It has forced me into the habit of saving at short intervals (which is
probably a good thing!).

Same problem here with Windows 2000 and XP. Sure do need a solution!
Guess I'm going to have to rebuild the computer. Argh!

That would be the SMB Packet Signing bug introduced by SP3 on Windows 2000
Server.
