Word shuts down when I enter a comma or semicolon.

I don't know what to do. When I'm in a Word document and enter either a
comma (,) or semicolon (;), a small window appears that says some kind of
error has occured and the program will be shut down. And guess what? It
does shut down. It completely closes out of Word after the the error message
is clicked. Help! One more thing that's weird, when I enter a comma(,)
within numbers, there is no error message. It's only when I put a (,)
between words or use a semicolon where the problem starts. How do I get rid
of this?

Oops, it's not the semicolon that's giving me problems. It's the colon :))
and the comma (,).
