Word starts to open then gives error msg

Word starts to open then gives error message (encountered
and problem and needs to close) and shuts down. I remove
the software and reloaded it but it continues.
Before this problem started, I had one file that stayed
on the status bar after I had closed Word.

ModVer: 9.0.0.8216 Offset: 0039f580

Sounds like a corrupted normal.dot template. Do a search
for that file and delete it. A fresh normal.dot template
will be created when you re-open word.
