I had to re-install Windows XP last month. Ever since
then, when I start up Word 2002, I see a pop-up Windows
Installer window which lasts for such a short time that I
cannot read it. Then it takes Word about 3-4 seconds to
appear. When I use the /a command it does not happen.
But I have used the Support Template and gone through all
the options and none of them were the cause. Therefore
it must be some interration between Word and Windows XP
that makes XP think that it has an unfinished
installation or something. I have not been able to find
out how to diagnose this problem from the XP side.
Has anyone any experience with this type of problem?
