Hey guys,
We are having a problem opening .txt files (from
within the Word 'Open Dialog' box) located on a network
drive. We can safe files as .txt in the folder, but
cannot open them. We can open and save Word (.doc) files
just fine, but Word stops responding when we try to
open .txt files.
The problem only affects computers running pre-
existing profiles; it does not occur on computers in
which a new user profile is added. Likewise, it does not
occur when Word is used under a pre-existing user profile
that is added to a computer that previously did not have
the profile. In other words, the problem does not occur
on computers to which a new or pre-existing user profile
is added.
We aren't sure, but the problem may be related to a
network printing problem.
I've scoured the Knowledge Base and Support Centers
to no avail. We're stumped. Any help would be greatly
appreciated. Thanks.
