Word suddenly began crashing and will only start in safe mode

Suddenly started having problem opening word documents. Program keeps
crashing and starting in safe mode. Using Word from Works Suite 2002

If you're not launching Word from within Works, the first step is to
uninstall (through Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs) the Microsoft Works
Suite Add-in for Word. Then see
