Word takes 15 minutes to open and close

Word takes about 15 minutes to open and close on one user
logon, the other is fine. Even when it is open each new
file takes forever to open.Closing down seems to take even
longer.
I am having to keep logging off, and on to the other user
to do anything quickly on Word.
Help, it's driving me batty!

Assuming you are in OS X, have you tried repairing permissions (for that
user)? What about deleting prefs (again for that user??
