Word takes 30 to 45 sec to open and switch between files

Word seems to take forever to open and switch between files. I have
uninstalled and reinstalled the program cleaning the registry between, used
msconfig to use a diagnostic start, opened in Safe mode--all with the same
result. It has become such a problem that I had to disable Word as my email
editor because of the delay and now I can answer emails quickly.

Anyone know a solution that I have not attempted.

If you're using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it. See

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

Wish that was the answer. I use McAfee Enterprise 8.0i. However, I will
look to see if a plugin could be causing the problem. I know that I have a
plugin from Adobe Acrobat.
