Word > Templates and Add Ons not selected?..

If I goto Tools > Templates and Add Ins and then under global
templates and add ins I have three add ins. But I check them and
everytime word closes and I reopen they are no longer checked.

Any ideas?

Where are the add-ins located? Are they in your Office Startup for
Word\Startup folder? They need to be placed in one of these folders in order
to automatically load when Word starts. Otherwise, if you manually loaded
them (in the Templates and Add-ins dialog you clicked Add to load them) then
they will not automatically load when Word starts.
