Word text overwritten

My company have an Oracle application to create letters using a Wor
Template. In most cases, this works correctly and Word documents ar
created that can be printed and sent to customers.

However, occasionally bold text overwrites itself which results in
smudge on the left-hand side. This is text from the template (e.g 'Ou
ref:) as well as text generated by the application.

We have checked the printer drivers and fonts and they appear to be ok
It seems that when the bold is removed or the font size changed th
problem is resolved.

This happens to various users once every week or two.

I would appreciate any suggestions of what to look at next. Thanks

According to contributor Bob Buckland: "It's a bug that somehow seems to
have Word misreading temporary files related to the printer currently in
use. You can usually 'unscramble' the display from File=>Print and switch
to the printer properties or to another printer then your normal one, or
close Word and delete all files found on Start=>Search and looking for
~$*.*;*.tmp as the name string then restarting Word." See also
