I have a very long list of names in Word, each name separated by a ";". How
do I turn it into a list in Excel with each name in a cell without doing it
one name at a time?

Do a rountine Copy (from Word) switch to Excel - Click in a Cell (A1, say)
Edit, Paste.

Select A1 to A? (Last non-blank row) - Data, TextToColumns...
Delimeted; Select Semicolon; Text Finish
Done

Replace ; by a Paragraph Mark in Word (in Find/Replace dialog click on More,
Click on Special and choose Paragraph Mark [or type ^p directly])
Select the names and paste in Excel...

Thanks. This gave me text to columns but I needed text to rows. A technique
for another time, though.
