Word too slow with table format

I have a file which has 9 columns multiple rows format. This particular file
is too slow for editing. Cursor movement is painfully slows. When I type
something words are displayed almost after a lag of 5 - 10 seconds.

any quick solutions?

There are a number of tips in

important is to break the table into several smaller tables if possible.
