Word Toys--Add-in Menus Won't Stay Open

Using MOS 2003. I installed a useful add-in called Word Toys, and when it's
installed and i open Word--it jumps at regular intervals (seems to
pulsate--not kidding) but more importantly no menus will stay open--they
just flash. I tried keys like Ctrl and Shift and they don't help. If I
uninstall it, the problem goes away but I want to keep the add-in for its
features. I found nothing in its FAQ and changed the name of the add-in in
the startup folder so it would startup first, and that still doesn't help.

Anything I can do to keep the menus open and stop the "jumpting?"
