Word will not create a new page

One of our office's computers has this problem:
In Word at the end of page one on NEW document you can
keep typing but the new page will not appear. The text
is input, but the page won't break. If you hit
CTRL/ENTER you can get a new page, but it will not do it
automatically?

We use Windows XP and Office 2002.

Check Format | Columns and make sure that the number of columns is set to 1.
