Word will not open as the Email Editor for HTML Emails

When I try to reply to a message using Word as my Email Editor in Outlook, I
get the message that "Word is unavailable, not installed, or is not the same
version as Outlook. The Outlook e-mail editor will be used instead. An OLE
registration error occured. The program is not currently installed. Run Setup
again for the program."
I have installed all available updates from Microsoft. I have run detect
and repair in both Word and Outlook. My orginal install was from Office 2003
Professional, so everything is the same version. I have not been able to
find any other information on this problem. Any ideas?
