Word will not run

We have been having serious issues with Word 2002 - as
soon as it is opened and you begin to type, it will freeze
resulting in a shut down.

We have tried several attempts to fixing this issue
(changed registry, normal.dot file - deleted - several
times), clean uninstall and reinstall). We are running
out of options and were wondering if maybe we were running
something that is conflicting with Word (does anyone know
of any conflicts), we have a bad "issue" of Word, or
something else.

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks.

Yes, our computers are automatically set to install
updates from the Microsoft website.

We are also experiencing a similar problem with Word 2000.
Just migrated from Novell and all of one user's files
generate "memory cannot be read" erros. She also cannot
run wordpad because it reboots her computer. Is this Nimda
virus?

we are also having the same trouble word,powderpoint and
printing !!!!! re-installed office and still does it..
