word won't open

I am running ME and word 2000. Out of the blue word would
not open. all other office applications open. I have
deleted and reinstalled word but still it will not open.
No error messages, it just tries to open and then i have
to control/alt/delete to terminate and restart computer

Am having similar problem with word using ME.Sometimes

message appears "resources low" ?? cant understand as i
have 50% mem left.help!!!

And one of the items in that faq is to check your printer, to which I
would add, look in your printer folder and if you have any duplicate
printers installed, remove them.
