Word X 2004 questions

Nate Goldshlag

I have two questions for those folks that have been beta testing and/or
using Word X 2004.

1. Has Microsoft fixed their shoddy handling of graphics? Specifically,
you cannot drag a pdf with text into Word X and have it print without
horrible fuzzy printing.

2. Now that the OS can convert Encapsulated PostScript to pdf, can Word
2004 insert an EPS object without a preview and have it viewable on
screen?

Sorry Nate:

We're not allowed to answer those two questions. However, if we were, the
answer would go something like this:

"Word does not have its own printing system. It uses the one in OS X. So
Word can do whatever OS X can do."

Since we have not seen the final cut of Word either yet, we have no way of
even guiding you on whether the above statement is going to be completely
true, mostly true, or not true at all. Our printing problems last time
happened because we got caught by a very late change by Apple that Microsoft
did not have time to encompass. So I am not going to bet the farm on that
answer this time around :)

Cheers
