I have a problem with my formatting palette in Word X. When I click on the
icon in the tool bar i can see the palette dropping down but it heads on
down off the screen. How can i stop it from doing this?

thanks

There a fix but no prevention known. However, the MacBU (Mac dept of MS) is
trying to track this down and stop it happening, but they need more
information. First, can you:

1. Take a take a screen shot (CMD + SHIFT + 3) of your screen
2. Copy the file
~/Library/Preferences/Microsoft/com.microsoft.Office.prefs.plist
3. Send that screenshot and preferences file to a tester for the MacBU at
email: (e-mail address removed)

Then, you will find the fix here. Please do the above *before* running the
fix:

Sorry. ~ is the shorthand for username, so start there and follow the
filepath.

Hey Tristan,

For Word X, the file we're looking for is "Microsoft Office Settings (10)".
The one Daiya mentioned was for Word 2004.

If you'd be willing to send the "Microsoft Office Settings (10)" file
directly to me ([email protected]) along with a screen shot, that would be
just spiffy!

But please don't let this request prevent you from getting on with your
work. If you can't find it, just go ahead use the link to fix your issue,
thanks for your help!

I tried running the fix and it worked to a certain extent. The formatting
palette appears but its tiny and there is no option to click in the bottom
corner and drag the window out to make it larger.

Just ignore my last post, I restarted Word and everything is working fine
now. Thanks very much for all your help.

Cheers
