Word X Works Very Slowly on OS 10.2.6

S

Steve Renato

I have been using MS Office X and Word X on a Mac 466 G4 for over a
year without a problem. At least while I was using OS 10.1. But I
recently converted to 10.2 (Jaguar), and there has been no end of
problems. It takes 1-2 MINUTES for Word to load, and every time I try
to open a new or existing Word document, the rainbow wheel spins
around for 45-60 seconds. I am also unable to create a Table of
Contents. This is totally incompatible with using Word for word
processing. Does the problem lie in Word or in OS 10.2, and in either
instance, how do I solve it?
