Word XP (2002) - very slow pagescrolling in pagelout view

Hi all,

Hope somebody can help.

I have a fairly big word document (approx. 3 MB) with lots of images
in it, which is annoyingly slow when I try to scroll through the
pages.

In the status bar it keeps numbering pages like crazy, 3 to 4 times
each time I press the page-up button.

Somebody knows this issue. How can I turn off this annoying
re-numbering in the status bar?

You might try activating "Picture placeholder" in Tools/Options/View.
Or, if these are linked pictures, try removing the link so that Word
isn't constantly updating as they scroll into view.
