Word XP Closes All Documents, When I Only Want To Close One

If I have multiple documents open and I want to close one
Word closes all of them and closes the Word program.

I have closed the documents by clicking on the little
black "X" the one under the program "X" and I have closed
the document by right clicking on the button on the task
bar. I'm not selecting close group"

Can anyone help me figure out why this is happening?

Try closing a document with the keyboard command Ctrl+w.
