Word (xp) crash, please help!

I have Office xp. None of my documents will open when I
double click on them and when I start word up, it tries
to open document1 then gives me an error to report to
microsoft. it then closes when I say ok. Next time I
try to open word, it tries to open document2, and every
time I do that it opens the next document... I
uninstalled office xp and reinstalled, tried to repair it
and even uninstalled and installed office 2000. It still
does the same thing. Does anyone have any idea how to
fix this?
