Problem: Cannot open a 10 Mb file (*.doc) with a create date of 1997.
I'm using WORD XP with WindowsMe. When I try to open the file, WORD tries to convert it and almost gets done, but then crashes. It appears there are WordPerfect imported graphics in the file from what I see of various progress boxes flashing on the screen before it crashes. I can open the recovered file but all formatting is lost (and the 170-page document becomes 3000+ pages). Any advice?
