Word XP freezes

Hello everybody,

I am having a serious problem with WORD, and both Dell
and Microsoft support in Ireland are closed for the Bank
Holiday today.

I am getting this error whenever I paste something on to
WORD. The program freezes, and this message appears:

"Error signature: szAppName: WINWORD.EXE sz AppVer:
10.0.6612.0 szModName: MSSP3GA.DLL szModVer: 1.0.0.7
offset: 00015ffe"

According to the Microsoft website I do not need updates.
I cannot do my work until this is fixed. How can I fix
this? Thanks

The .dll referenced is part of the proofing tools (spell check). Does it
help if you turn off "Check spelling as you type"?
