Word XP gives incorrect "Not enought memory" error

Hi,

We're running office XP and have a proposal document with images in it.
Everytime we save it and then try to open it again we get this error:

"There is not enough memory or disk space to display or print the picture."

We used to get this error from time to time and simply used a previous
working copy. The machine has 512MB of RAM and tons of disk space and it
hardly using any system resourse at all so I know the error message is
wrong.

Looking at the MS site I can find references to this error and it says
simply go back and use the orginal - which is what we've been doing. That's
OK if it's only happening from time to time but this is now happening
everytime we save this doc.

I've tried re-installing Office XP.
I've tried disabling Norton Antivirus.
I've tried saving the .doc in a previous word format like 2000 or 97.

Any ideas?

Chris

Check your printer settings. Go to the properties of the
printer you are using, go to advanced, printing defaults,
advanced, and check the optimization and other settings.
Of course, your options will vary, depending upon what
printer you are using.

Hi,

Great at last a clue as to a solution.

Ok. There's two printers connected one local(default) one network. What
should the optimisation settings be? What should I be looking for?
The reason I ask is that I have to travel to the other office and want to be
as prepared as possible.

Thanks
Chris

Hi,

I've tried changing the printing settings, tried running in low memory mode
etc, none of which made any difference.
It seems to be when the document is saved. As you can open an old backup
copy fine but if you make changes and save it then you can't open it again
without encountering the error once more.

Any other ideas?

Would it be helpful if I uploaded/emailed the "good" document and a "bad"
doc?

Thanks
Chris
