WORD XP PRO WON'T OPEN A BLANK DOCUMENT-OPENS GRID??

Whenever I open Word, instead of a blank page there is a grid--like graph
paper. i can type over it and everything, but I want Word to open a BLANK
page like it used to--this just started after I ran a microsoft update 2 or
3days ago. I tried the normal.dot fix and I still get that grid. How do I
get it back to just a blank page when I open a new document? Thanks in
advance!

Right-click any toolbar, and choose Drawing. In the Drawing toolbar, click
Draw - Grid... Remove the check next to Display gridlines on screen. Note:
these are the instructions for Word 2003, but Word XP should be similar.

Open a new document.

On the Drawing toolbar, click Draw.
Note If the Drawing toolbar is not visible, point to Toolbars on the View
menu, and then click Drawing.

Select Grid - turn it off.
