word xp uses lots of processor

Hi!
my word xp occasionally is getting mad, when i open and
edit some documents, it starts to use up to 50% of
processor (its athlon 1800M)so it should not,does any one
has a clue what may cause that.

Usually, this is due to a language conflict between the document language
and the language settings in the Windows Control Panel. You can check this
by turning off the Spelling and Grammar whilst you type options and test
several suspect documents to see if that lowers the processing.

Other possibilities range from partial corruption of the printer driver or
of the documents. Also make sure that under Tools, Options, Save tab that
you have FastSaves deselected - renowned for corrupting documents.

unfortunately it did not work. my word hanldes some files
normaly and the other just act asif they were some
x-tensive graphic programme. I tried to rename the template
normal.dot, but this did not help. i reinstalled word xp,
but no use...i'm not sure what may be wrong...i treid to
convert those files into wpd format and back, they seem
work normally after this operation. Word Perfect hanldes
them normally. I personally prefer word xp, but i would
like it to work as it did before.....
