Use the Search facility and seach your hard drive for winword.exe
You know it makes sense.

you can run a search from your start button. try searching
for "winword" and "word." when the finder lists the files
containing the search words single click on the program and
below will be a box which shows you the location.
at the same time, there should be an icon from your start
button, just look through everything

hold down the button with the apple (called "open apple")
and hit the letter "F," a search dialogue box will come up,
enter "word" and begin search. when all of the found items
are shown, single click and a drop down list will show up
with the path to the program.

the menu if needed. If you don't find it there, try
opening Windows Explorer (shortcut is the windows emblem
key and the "E" key at the same time) Click on
the "Search" button. Type "winword.exe" (The name of the
executable file to open Word) - and make sure it is
looking in the "C" drive. If it is on your computer, it
will find it. If it is not found, it is NOT installed on
your PC.
