Recently I needed to do a full new installation of XP.
Originally my computer came with 98.
Now whenever I try to open a Word document it appears
momentarily then the installation screen appears and asks
for the serial numbers. I put them in but it rejects it
every time.
I registered the product when I purchased the computer
about 4 years ago. It was a generic "PC Max" and they are
long gone. (I know). The only option I can find from
Microsoft is a $99.00 email question! (If I had money do
you think I'd still be using this piece of junk??)
Does anyone know any number I could call where Microsoft
would be able to verify that I had properly registered at
time of purchase and give me the serial numbers?
