Word2000: Header/footer - no Autotext

I want to put the filename in the footer, but after View->Header
and Footer->Insert AutoText, up pops a little gray box with
nothing in it. (I used to get a list of choices, but after
installing the latest updates, they went away.)

I am using Word2000 SP-3. What should I do to fix this?
