WORD2002 on XP with Works

I have WORD2002 on a new laptop, running under Windows XP, also supplied
with WORKS.

When I open a NEW document, I only have the option of three, crude
system fonts. When I read in a document saved on another machine the
name in the font window reflects the name that the first character on
the document was saved in, but still on clicking the Font window only
the three crude system fonts are offered.

Looking at the fonts on the machine through the Control Panel there is a
huge quantity of fonts, as is to be expected.

How can I access these fonts in WORD?

Bike's are bosh, PC's are pointless, and the 1990's are nuts!
Bikes are great, PCs are super, and the 1990s are the time to be!
Save the apostrophe! Get 'em right! If in doubt, leave 'em out!!

Your default printer is probably "Generic/Text Only". Install a printer
that is capable of printing fonts, and you'll see more choices in the
Font window.
