Hi Marc,
Glad to hear the problem is resolved.
If you are interested in what the /r, or /regserver, switch actually
does, as you found it is a single command that recreates file
associations and various Registry entries for Word.
If you encounter similar problems in other Office 97 applications,
which I suspect you may since this seems to be common when installing
Office 97 on Windows 2000 or Windows XP, then here are the commands
for the other Office applications (only Word supports the abbreviated
switch):
excel /regserver
powerpnt /regserver
msaccess /regserver
Note the space before the forward slash.
