wordart/image resizing problem

after inserting wordart or picture i cannot make size smaller than its
original size with mouse.instead it appears to be bigger.

thanks for reply

i can resize from format dialog box. i am using office-97 version.
same is the problem with textbox also.only the problem is in word-97.
excel and powerpoint 97 no resizing problem is there
