Workbook calculation speed

Our company just migrated from Office 2002 to Office
2002. I'm finding that all of my 2000 Excel spreadsheet
workbooks are practically un-usable due to the full
calculations running everytime I change a single cell.

The help in Excel says that when you save a workbook in
the new version calc speeds will improve, but I'm not
seeing any change.

What can I do to convert my Excel 2000 spreadsheet to
Excel 2002 format, so that it stops calc'ing every single
cell every time I make single change?

HELP!
