Folks,
I have a access database (2000 format), that originally had no password protection. The data is inserted by a third party application via ODBC data source, defined on a computer where the application is running. I recently enabled password protection by creating a workgroup security file, and defining a special user that has all priviliges to the database. Both .mdb and .mdw files reside on a shared network drive.
The problem is that once I implemented the security mechanism, the ODBC gives an error: You do not have the necessary permissions to use the <name of the file> object. Please contact the administrator..... I tried to type in the admin username/password, but still get the same error. I have full control to the files and the folder on the shared drive.
Obviously, removing the security solves the problem...
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, Paul Z
