Working with Grouped cells on Protected sheets

Hello Lists...
How can I allow users to expand and collapse grouped rows
if the sheet is protected? What I'm trying to achieve is
the ability to view a report in full or collapsed
version.. without the ability to update any cells. Should
I use something other than protected sheet?
