Works 8.0 to MS Office for Small Business or Professional

My new computer comes with Works 8.0, but I would like to upgrade to Small
Business 2003 as I use Publisher for many of my projects. I'm currently
running on the Student/Teacher edition. The guy at the computer store said
that he wasn't sure if my version of Works is eligible for the upgrade
because it came with the computer, and not a product that I bought and
installed myself. What I want to know is whether to buy the upgrade or the
full version.

Thanks. However, the guy at the store wasn't sure if I WAS qualified because
Works came with my computer. I didn't buy Works as a separate program.

Here is a small piece of information for you

Products that qualify for the Office 2003 upgrade

- All Microsoft Office 97, Microsoft Office 2000, and Microsoft Office
XP Editions are qualifying products for Office 2003 Editions.

- All Individual Office 97, Office 2000, and Office XP products qualify
for their Office 2003 individual product.

- Office 97, Office 2000, and Office XP qualify for an Office 2003
individual product if the individual product was contained in an
earlier version of Office. For example, Microsoft Access is contained
in Office XP Professional, but not in Office XP Standard. As a result,
Office XP Professional would be a qualifying product for Access 2003.

- All Microsoft Works versions 6.0 or later and Microsoft Works
versions 2001 or later are qualifying products for Office 2003 Editions
and Word 2003.

"Trinbagoniangirl" is responding:
Like you I purchased a new computer with Works 8. but the Format does not
function proper it appears. Whenever, I try to perform any of the functions
under that tab, the software goes into a processing mode and then shut down.
Can you tell me whether you experience the same problem with yours? I am
asked by the technical support unit to provide the Product ID. I do not know
how to obtain it. DO you have any idea? Thank you.
