works database read as spreadsheet

I've just purchased a new computer and am trying to transfer my business
files to it. Many of my files are "wdb" created in Works 4.0 and Office 2003
but when I try to open them with my new computer running Works 8.0, it tries
to read them as "wks". Can someone help me figure this out?

Your question seems to be about Microsoft Works, but this
newsgroup is for Microsoft Office questions. You might get
better results if you ask in the Microsoft Works newsgroup. In
the meantime, see http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307859 "How
to change file associations in Windows XP".
