There is a known problem with Office 2007 breaking Works.

Thanks for the information.
I have 2 other systems I can open the files on. Anything new is created in
Office.

Don't know if I'm right but add/remove or change features of Office 2007 in
Control Panel where you Add or Remove Programs & select "MS Works x" in
importing & recognizing other writing programs (it includes things such as
different versions of Word Perfect, etc).
