I currently use Microsoft XP, but RE-downloaded Works Suite 2000 for use of
Word etc. Now when I try to use it, a pop up comes up and it wants me to
register (I registered when I originaly bought it two computers ago). I
cannot register, as I do not have the original package with the numbers on
it. Is there a way to take care of the problem??? It is useless until I can
fix it

Hi Cheri,

Is it asking you for a number when you install it or is it already installed and it's asking for activation? If activation you
should be able to activate either online or by phone using the phone numbers in the help file, you don't need to know numbers ahead
of time to activate, they'll be generated for you by the program.

It is asking for the registration Id numbers that each "new" Works Suite (and
other Microsoft products) come with. Those ID numbers are printed on the
inside of the container and you put those numbers in to register that copy
with Microsoft to show that it is not a bootleg or other illegial copy. I
being of not so sound mind threw them away after registering (this was
several computers ago). You have been helpful by answering, even if my
description lead to something else. (I will try it, and get back if it
works...) I do however thank you for you valuable time!
