Works Suite 2005 Word doesn't work

I bought works suite 2005 and loaded it. everything works except word
(labels,letters and envelopes). for some reason all I get is a blank gray
screen when I go to tools the prompt aren't highlighted, so I can't active
it. how can active it?

Some Word features are not available unless a document is open. Try clicking
New to create a new document, then use Tools...
