Hi,
I am not a pc guru i have been trying to under stand the relationship
between works and word now i have some idea maybe somebody can answer this
question.
I have a works 2000 cd and my old computer was windows me when i had to
reinstall my word on the old pc i used the works 2000 cd, or so i thought.
On my new pc which has windows xp it loads as
works with works processor which i do not want i require word processor for
work, so, am i right in saying that the word processor is on the me recovery
disc and if so can i extract the files onto cd or floppy and put them onto
the xp pc if so how do i do it. Can any body offer some advise.

If your Works is the "Works Suite" then the Cds contain both the Works
word processor AND the Word word processor. If I recall correctly,
when you install Word the program doesn't even mention the works word
processor, but it is actually installed anyway. If your package is NOT
the "Works Suite" then it probably does not contain Word, but only the
Works word processor.

Just try a custom installation, asking the program to install only
Word.
