Worksheet Changes to Euros?

J

Jason

After saving and closing a new workbook, when I opened it this morning
all of the $ dollar designations were changed to Euros.

Any idea what happened?

Ctrl +H works, but it won't let me replace the euro designation with a
$ sign. Every worksheet in the workbook changed over to Euros.
Sheesh.

My guess is that you haven't got the Euro symbol as a text item, but as part
of your currency formatting.
May well be Windows Regional Options, otherwise in Excel look at Format/
Cells/ Currency.

This is insanity. I just changed everything on my new worksheet back
to $. I saved, closed the workbook, opened and now two of the columns
are back to euros. The time of day columns no less.

I HATE 2007.

And what do the settings in your Windows Regional Options (accessed via the
Windows Control Panel) say for currency display?
I'm rather confused by your reference to "time of day" columns? What is the
cell formatting of the cells affected? [What does it say when you go to
Format/ Cells/ Custom ?]

Regional settings are for US currency.

I've never ever used Euros for anything.

Cell formatting is Time>1:30 PM

Actually, I just changed my time settings for these columns again.

Custom> h:mm AM/PM

This looks better. This way i shouldn't always have to enter AM or PM
when entering time.

OK. I just saved, and then opened and closed the workbook again, and
it ddidn't change everything to Euros.

But this is just for one worksheet in the workbook. My problem now is
to change back all of the Euro designations in the other 7 sheets in
my workbook.

Do you have any idea how I do that. I tried the replace feature, but
I can't get that to work. I must not know how to enter the Euro
symbol in there.

Hi,

I have the same kind of problem: I live in Finland (Europe) and use euros.
But when I save the workbook and re-open it, the currency symbol has changed
to dollars :).

I guess this is just a Microsofts bug... sorry, an undocumented feature...
