workstation taken off network no profile for Outlook now

I had a windows xp computer loaded on a domain of rockford2.com. After I
took the computer off the network it was still acting as if it was on the
domain. My profile never was lost until I changed the computer to be part of
a workgroup. How can I access that profile using Outlook. Under user
profiles I can see the profile but can not access it.
Can someone please help?

Do you still have access to the domain in the office, and were you using
roaming profiles? If so, ask the domain admin to rejoin you to the domain.

If not -you can log in as the built in administrator account, go to control
panel, system, and find the profiles button...is the domain account or an
'unknown' one still showing up? Ssee if you can copy the user's domain
account profile to the local user's profile....

If not, re-create the profile. If the old documents & settings (profile)
folder is still extant for the old domain account, you may need to take
ownership of it to access the files therein.

If you were using Exchange server and no PST, there's nothing to recover for
Outlook, really, unless you had an OST file you sync'd with ...

Note - I don't recommend using the default profile folders for much - I
redirect My Documents (on a standalone computer, to c:\data or somesuch) and
move the PST file(s) to c:\data\outlook\myname.pst with Outlook closed (then
repoint Outlook at the new location when I start up). This is a lot easier
to manage, in my view.
