suggestions needed before I run scanpst.

outlook xp (2002)
~333mb .pst file
internet only profile
workgroup computer, no domain
lost the hard drive.
actually recovered quite a bit of data
can't copy outlook.pst off the bad drive (crc error toward the end of copy)
i want to run scanpst on the .pst file but I'd like to somehow preserve the
original broken .pst file.
Suggestions?

Is there a way to at least import the Inbox or Sent folders or is it all or
nothing?
Thanks

Its all or nothing.
You attempted a copy from the Dos prompt?
Or with tools available at bootdisk.com?

Thank you for replying.
I was very fortunate to have the fresh xp install on a new drive see the old
drive and the data after running spinrite on it.
I just dragged the folder to the new drive. That's when I got the crc
error - right at the end of the copy.
All is gone... we used an old backup and all the new mail was still on the
isp server.
Thanks again,.
