Would Access Work for me?

I currently use a commercial program at work to enter and track work orders.
The program has bugs and it is too much information for what we need.
I would like to develop my own program and was wondering if it is possible
with Access?
I need to input work orders as they come in with a work order number
assigned, need to produce requistions and purchase orders.
Need to input and track employees by their employee numbers.
Need to track equipment by an equipment number.
Need to separate our workers by their crafts, ie: carpenters, HVAC, etc
Does this sound like something that can be accomplished with Access?
Thank you,
Lee

It most certainly would be possible in Access but you have to understand
that Access is a box of tools to allow you to build an application, it will
do nothing for you straight out of the box like Word and Excel will.

A good starting point would be the Northwind sample database file that ships
with Access. Whilst not perfect by any means, it will clue you in to the
scale of the job.
