write lock held indefinitely

I was logged into my company network and editing a particular onenote
section. I then closed my VPN connection and received a message saying
that the changes I had made would be aborted because they could not be
saved to the company drive. Now it is the next day and I can't edit
the section. It is flagged as read-only and nobody who has access to
it has opened it. Is there a way to clear the write lock so that I can
once again edit the page? Is there a way to verify who is editing the
page (if I am wrong)?

Hi Jeff,

You need to get in contact with the administrator of the file server
your OneNote section is stored on. That person is the only one who can
do something about this situation.
In case you are the person: Look into Computer Management (right-click
on my computer, manage) on the server. In System Tools, Shared Folders
you have Open Files. There you should be able to close a file.
