Wrong conversion from access to excel

Text fields in access containing numbers sometimes are
converted in Excel as negative numbers.
E.g.:
713 05
is converted (using the menu option "analyze it with MS
Excel") to:
-433421
Anybody can easily reproduce this problem:
Create a table with one text field.
Enter the value: 713 05
Create a report based on that table.
The report should look OK, but when you export the report
to excel it'll show you the negative number.
I tried using the format field of the report in order to
force the output as a text field but still the same
problem.
Any ideas?
